Children of the future age,
Reading this indignant page,
Know that in a former time,
Love, sweet Love, was thought a crime!
This project is to honour a great poet, painter and philosopher.
Ignored and missunderstood by his time and afterwards only slowly regarded by public perception, William Blake enriched our world with his wild and living language. His poem "The Tyger" ("Tyger! Tyger! burning bright") is a legend in the English linguistic area. The movie Dead Man pushed the public awareness of Blake.
On this pages you will find information about the live and work of the William Blake, whose talents were gift and burden to him. Blake was one of the outstanding social critics of the romance. At a time of the strong religious and social standards and conformity he stood up for the human liberty. The leading philosophy of his work are his faith into the strength of the fantasy and into the importance - even superiority - of emotions over reason.
